Wake up and Loosen up with MAYURASANA

Hi friends,

Today we will see "The Peacock Pose"

Health tip of the day: MAYURASANA

                                                      Mayurasana

Mayurasana is an arm balancing posture. The name comes from the Sanskrit word Mayur meaning peacock and asana meaning posture.

How to do Mayurasana :

  • Sit erect on a flat surface in Vajrasana. (Refer my post on how to do Vajrasana
  • http://yourdailyyoga.blogspot.in/2017/12/wake-up-and-loosen-up.html).
  • Lean forward and place your palms on the ground with fingers facing backwards.
  • Now slowly move your legs backwards so that you balance on your toes.
  • Raise your whole body upwards off the ground with the pressure in your abdomen. Whole body weight is balanced by your palms.
  • Stay in this pose for 10 to 30 seconds.
  • Relax and come to Vajrasana.
  • Repeat this pose for 5 to 10 minutes daily.
