Wake up and Loosen up with HALASANA

Hi friends,

Today we will see "The Plow Pose".

Health tip of the day: HALASANA

                                                           Halasana

Halasana is a whole body rejuvenating posture. The name comes from the Sanskrit word Hal meaning plough and asana meaning posture.

How to do Halasana :

  • Lie flat on your back on a flat surface.
  • Keep your hands beside your body with palms facing the ground.
  • Now slowly lift your legs off the floor to 90-degree angle.
  • Now support your hips with your hands, breathing normally bend your legs back to 180-degree such that your toes touch the ground.
  • Now rest your hands beside your body with palms touching the ground.
  • Completely relax your body.
  • Stay in this pose for 10 to 30 seconds and get back to Savasana. (Refer my post to savasana
  • http://yourdailyyoga.blogspot.in/2018/01/wake-up-and-loosen-up-with-savasana.html ).
  • Repeat this posture for 5 to 10 minutes daily.

Benefits of Halasana :

  • Strengthens your back, neck, shoulders and legs.
  • Relaxes your nervous system.
  • Improves leg flexibility.
  • Strengthens your immune system.
  • Helps women during menopause.

Important Note :

Do this asana slowly as you might end up breaking your neck.
If you have a heart problem, back or neck injuries avoid practising this asana.
Beginners, please do it under proper supervision.

"Your body is your temple. Keep it clean and healthy".

See you in another session on fitness with yoga. Until then stay fit and happy.
