Balasana is counter for various asanas and is usually practised before and after Sirsasana. This pose is also called the child pose getting its name from the Sanskrit word bala - child and asana - pose.

How to do Balasana:

  • Get to Vajrasana Pose.(Refer my previous article on how to do Vajrasana  http://yourdailyyoga.blogspot.in/2017/12/wake-up-and-loosen-up.html ).
  • Inhale slowly.
  • Now exhaling, lay your torso between your thighs.
  • Lay your hands alongside your torso and release your shoulders towards the floor.
  • Close your eyes and concentrate on your breathing.
  • Stay in this pose for 15-30 seconds and get back to Vajrasana.
  • Repeat the above steps for 5 to 10  minutes daily.
